Q: What is Roadware MatchCrete™ Clear?

A: A two-component aliphatic polyurethane for repairing cracks, spalls, and joints in concrete exposed to sunlight. It cures clear and can be tinted with sand or pigments to match decorative surfaces.

Q: What types of concrete can it repair?

A: Colored, stamped, polished, and exposed aggregate concrete. Commonly used in retail entryways, pool decks, decorative slabs, and other appearance-critical areas.

Q: Can it be used outdoors?

A: Yes. It’s UV-stable and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

APPLICATION & PERFORMANCE
Q: How long does it take to cure?

A: Sets in 20–40 minutes and fully cures in a few hours at 70°F (21°C) Honing or grinding can begin after 12 hours, depending on temperature and repair size.

Q: Can I polish over it?

A: Yes. Allow 24 hours for full cure before polishing.

Q: Does it stay clear over time?

A: Yes. It resists yellowing from UV exposure. Tinting may affect final color.

Q: Can I match the color of existing concrete?

A: Yes. Blend in dry silica sand, concrete dust, or colored quartz. Test blends for best results.

Q: Can I coat over it with a concrete sealer?

A: Yes, MatchCrete™ Clear is compatible with most water-based and solvent-based concrete sealers. 

Q: At what temperature range can I install MatchCrete™ Clear.

A: You can install MatchCrete Clear at temperatures between 40 degrees F (4°C) and 100 degrees F. (38°C) Surfaces must be clean and dry. 

TECHNICAL DETAILS
Q: Is it compatible with needle tip mixers?

Yes, the 50ml cartridge is equipped with Roadware Needle Tip Mixers for precise application. The 600ml cartridges are compatible with the Roadware Needle Tip Mixer 1006-14. When using needle tip mixers, make sure to apply the material quickly enough to prevent it from setting and clogging the mixer.

Q: What formats are available?

A: 50ml 2K cartridge, 600ml 2K cartridge, and two-gallon bulk kit.

Q: Can it be used in expansion joints?

A: No. It’s semi-rigid and not suitable for high-movement joints.

Q: Who should apply this product?

A: Recommended for professionals or trained applicators. Avoid skin contact and follow safety protocols. Use safety glasses and gloves.

Q: What surface prep is required?

A: Surfaces must be dry and free of dirt, moisture, and contaminants.

Q: How do I clean up spilled or misapplied material? 

Unmixed MatchCrete Clear can be easily cleaned up using acetone or MEK. Once cured, it offers strong chemical resistance. If you need to remove it after it’s set, you’ll have to cut out the affected area. Another option is to mechanically abrade the concrete surface.
