Roadware 10 Minute Concrete Mender Vertical Crack Repair Procedures
Please review the general Concrete Mender Cartridge Assembly instructions.
For work in enclosed areas like basements, use Concrete Mender Low Odor.
Easy Injection Mixer Technique.

1. To begin, drill a 3/8″ diameter hole about one inch deep into the crack. Each hole should be at a 20 to 45-degree downward angle. Make holes at multiple points along the crack. Ensure the holes correspond to the depth of the concrete. For a 6-inch thick wall, make a hole every 6 inches. Clean the cracks and holes using a wire brush and vacuum. (Be sure to follow OSHA guidelines to work safely around silica dust.)
2. Tape off the face of the crack and over the holes you just drilled with clear duct tape or Gorilla Clear Repair Tape. These tapes have a good adhesive that will stick to the surrounding concrete. Do not use packing tape or other tapes without testing them first.
3. Take a utility knife and cut a horizontal slit in each of the tape-covered pre-drilled holes.
4. Pre-heat the cartridges to approximately 80 degrees F. This will reduce the set gel time of the material. Assemble a cartridge of Roadware 10 Minute Concrete Mender using our specially designed 1006-STR Soft-tip static mixer. Purge the cartridge of air as directed and insert the nozzle into the lowest hole you drilled earlier.
5. Gently squeeze the handle of the gun and slowly inject Concrete Mender into the crack. Work product into several holes at a time, moving the cartridge back and forth among them. Allow time for the Concrete Mender to start gelling in the lower portions of the crack. As the crack starts to fill completely, you will see Concrete Mender flow under the clear tape from one drilled hole to the other. You may see air bubbling up from one hole as you inject Concrete Mender into adjacent holes. Have paper towels ready to catch any material that may overflow from the crack.
6. Once the crack is filled to refusal, move on to the next few drilled holes until the whole crack is filled. You may need to add additional material to the previously filled holes as the Concrete Mender soaks into the crack.
Needle Tip Injection Technique

1. Start by cleaning the crack with a wire brush and a vacuum cleaner. Be sure to follow OSHA guidelines to work safely around silica dust. Next, tape off the surface of the crack using clear duct tape or Gorilla Clear Repair Tape, as these have strong adhesive properties that will adhere well to the surrounding concrete. Avoid using packing tape or any other tapes without prior testing.
2. Preheat the cartridges to approximately 80°F (27°C) to reduce the setting time of the material. Assemble a cartridge of Roadware 10 Minute Concrete Mender using the specially designed 1006-18 needle tip static mixer. Purge any air from the cartridge as instructed and insert the needle into the crack, piercing the tape with the needle tip. Start injecting from the bottom of the crack and work your way up.
3. Gently squeeze the handle of the gun and slowly inject Concrete Mender into the crack. Work the product into multiple holes at a time, moving the cartridge back and forth among them. Allow some time for the Concrete Mender to start gelling at the bottom of the crack. As the crack fills, you will see the Concrete Mender flow under the clear tape from the bottom to the top. Keep paper towels on hand to catch any overflow from the crack.
4. Continue injecting until the crack is filled to capacity. Progress up to the next area until the entire crack is filled. You may need to revisit previously filled areas to add more material as the Concrete Mender soaks into the crack.
5. After 10 minutes at 70 degrees or 23 C, pull the tape. You can use a razor scraper, grinder or polishing device to remove and excess material and blend in the repair.
