Amazon Warehouse full depth crack repair without cutting

How Amazon Warehouse Achieves No-Cut, Full-Depth Crack Repair

Repairing full‑depth cracks in warehouse floors has traditionally required opening the cracks with dry diamond saws. While common, this method is slow, expensive, and produces hazardous silica dust that must be carefully controlled. On a recent Amazon Warehouse project, contractors adopted a faster, cleaner, and more durable solution: no‑cut crack repair using Roadware 10 Minute Concrete Mender.

This innovative approach eliminates saw‑cutting entirely while restoring structural performance across thousands of linear feet of shrinkage cracks.

Why Repairing Warehouse Floor Cracks Matters

In industrial and commercial facilities, cracked concrete floors create serious long‑term problems:

  • Progressive deterioration as forklifts and wheeled traffic widen the cracks
  • Loss of load transfer, reducing slab performance
  • Safety and liability risks for employees and equipment
  • Dirt accumulation, making floors harder to clean
  • Premature slab failure, leading to costly downtime

Roadware 10 Minute Concrete Mender is a structural polyurethane engineered to penetrate deep into concrete and restore aggregate interlock. Its ultra‑low viscosity allows it to reach the bottom of full‑depth cracks without cutting.

Project Overview: Three‑Level Amazon Warehouse

This three‑story Amazon facility developed thousands of linear feet of shrinkage and stress cracks before going into service. Fortunately, the cracks were clean and free of embedded debris—ideal conditions for a no‑cut, full‑depth repair.

The No‑Cut Repair Plan

Instead of opening the cracks with saws, contractors used sacrificial vinyl weatherstrip to create a temporary dam along each crack. This peel‑and‑stick barrier holds Concrete Mender™ in place while it flows downward.

Why This Works

When mixed, Concrete Mender™ has a water‑thin viscosity, allowing it to:

  • Wick deep into cracks
  • Penetrate micro‑fractures
  • Bond directly to aggregate
  • Begin gelling within 5–7 minutes

This process initiates Roadware’s signature Microdoweling action—molecular bonding that locks the repair into the concrete matrix.

Most cracks require three to four light flood applications to achieve full‑depth penetration and complete structural restoration.

Step‑by‑Step Application Process

One of the advantages of Concrete Mender™ is that it requires no pumps, ports, or heavy equipment.

1. Surface Preparation

  • Vacuum the cracks
  • Clean the surrounding concrete

2. Install Weatherstrip Dam

Apply peel‑and‑stick vinyl weatherstrip along the crack to form a temporary containment well.

3. Mix Concrete Mender™

  • Combine equal parts A and B
  • Mix for 15 seconds

4. Flood the Crack

Pour Concrete Mender™ directly into the crack. Allow it to soak in and repeat until the crack is filled to refusal.

5. Cure and Finish

Concrete Mender™ cures in about 10 minutes at 72°F (21°C). Once cured:

  • Remove the weatherstrip
  • Shave or grind excess material flush with the floor
  • Return the area to service immediately

For this repair type, do not add manufactured sand. For larger spalls or wide cracks, see the Concrete Mender Bulk Application Instructions.

Results: Clean, Fast, and Structurally Sound Repairs

The finished repairs blend smoothly into the surrounding concrete. As forklifts and foot traffic continue across the slab, the repairs become even less noticeable.
